Magnitude and direction

We at Vector Performance Consulting always adhere to these, our keywords.
They signify that we do not only emphasize the magnitude of effort, anyone can want something really bad, but equally highlight the direction of that effort. Because it is our conviction that true performance exists in this holistic context, and that not one factor (physical, tactical, technical or mental) will make or break sporting performance, but rather how these interact within a given context.

In other words; the magnitude of power, speed and endurance only has true relevance in sporting performance when it has the direction of tactical understanding, communicative skills and contextual individualization.

Magnitude is capacity.

Direction is purpose.

rickard engström

Master of Sport science

Currently a Swedish FA youth football fitness coach and sport scientist, Rickard has worked at many levels of Swedish football. Beginning as an intern at KIF Örebro DFF while completing his bachelor, Rickard then moved on to BK Forward (third tier) to work as Academy chief. After a four year stint at Östers IF (second tier) as a youth, and later first team fitness coach, Engström has hired at Helsingborgs IF (first tier) as one of the assistant coaches. Rickard completed his Masters degree in sport science in Gothenburg, finishing his degree with a thesis in integrated football training (tactical and physical emphasis).
